Knopfler Surrounded

Stumbled upon a great post from Knopfler musical associate, Guy Fletcher, with some great gear shots. Amps above from left to right are: Carr, Ampeg Reverbrocket, Tone King Metropolitan, Lazy J, Divided by 13, Gretsch 6161, Fender twin ’58, Fender Princeton TV ’55, Tone King Imperial, Gibson EH150, Fender Bassman ’59, Fender Concert, Fender Super Reverb. Should be able to get a few tones out of those I think!

Scott McKeon “Voodoobluesjam”

This a bit of a Youtube favourite of mine. English blues guitarist Scott McKeon laying down a chewy little strat + univibe blues goodness. Really great sound and feel. I think I read somewhere that the univibe is a Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe Jr and the guitar is an original ’62 Fender Strat. Tasty. Chops.

You know that feeling you get when you sit down to try out a guitar or amp in a music store? You feel a bit self conscious. You can barely get the guitar in tune. You nervously pop out some lame ass licks…or resort to Stairway or Sweet Child O’ Mine like everyone else. Eric Gales doesn’t have that problem.
